My advice to anyone who must go here, DO NOT PAY UP FRONT
My biggest issue with this hospital has been the billing. I paid with my credit card on the day of my visit to the emergency department in August. Fast forward a few weeks (September) and my bills were processed with my insurance and I find out I should not have paid anything (well only $12 vs. almost $900). I have been fighting with the billing to get my refund for over two months (currently November) and every time I call, it's some excuse and they tell me it's with a department that they have no access to and cannot provide an update as to when I will get my refund. It's absolutely ridiculous. Opt for them to bill you after the fact after all bills are processed and you have an EOB from your insurance company. This will give you a more accurate view of what you owe. For context, I have called 6-7 times to try and get this resolved, escalating to managers. Also, I called the customer relations and they also said there’s nothing they can do other than send a message to billing to try and get resolved. Also, this place needs a revamp and does not seem to be the cleanest.

If I wanted a nurse to provide care, I could go to Walgreens or CVS
Oncology services are average. Nothing special. The oncologists consistently pawn off patients to their NPs or PAs with barely any or even no notice.

6 hours and not even one nurse to check her vitals
I thought this was one of the best hospital I brought my daughter to the Emergency room. We were in the waiting area for 6 hours my daughter was throwing up blood and she was in so much pain that even the other patient were telling me to go and talk to someone to see if they could help her. I understand they see patients depended on their condition. But for somebody being in the emergency room for 6 hours and not even one nurse to checken her vitals. This is sad like I said before I thought this was a very good hospital.

Terrible terrible nursing care
My mother had a stroke and was admitted into Rush Hospital. ICU is TERRIBLE. Nurse are in the nurses station running around playing and talking, online shopping, scrolling on social media. My mother called the nurse in a took them over an hour to come to her room. She cried and beg them to put her on the toilet and did not want to. My mother has a catheter in because she is in bed rest when first admitted. She had an accident on herself because the catheter did not catch all the urine. The nurse lied on my mother saying she denied getting a bath. Which was never the case she had urine on her she would never deny a bath.

If you have an emergency I do not recommend coming here ever
I was with my partner (Who was actively throwing up with extreme abdominal pain) And they had her in the waiting room (7 hours and a half) -No pain medication -Not even seen for anything Just waiting “for a bed to become available" We went inside there were so many empty beds Ive seen busy hospital and this was not even half full. We are still waiting, about to be 8 hours and still nothing. This is beyond ridiculous for a hospital with such a prestigious name. And the bathrooms were beyond disgusting.

I was very disappointed with the level of service I received
The receptionists were rude and unprofessional, and unfortunately, most of the nurses I encountered were the same. I felt like I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a patient. This experience made what was already a stressful situation much worse.

They are rude and try to intimidate you into going with what they want
The absolute worst experience. Go in for a workman's Comp injury. They tell me that they will bill the appropriate parties. Months later been getting now to this point harassing calls and messages. Keep giving them what they ask for. Just for them to add more stuff. At this point they make Loretta Hospital look more professional than them.

Their unwillingness to correct their errors are unacceptable
I had a highly disappointing experience with Rush University Medical Center regarding a billing issue. After being charged over $400, I called and spoke with the staff to clarify the situation. Both over the phone and in person, the staff confirmed that my insurance was in-network. However, it turns out my insurance was processed incorrectly, and now I’m being told that I owe money to the hospital. The staff at this location are not only rude and unhelpful but also completely unprofessional. Their unethical behavior has caused me unnecessary stress and financial strain. It’s infuriating that they refuse to admit their error and expect me to pay for their mistake. Given my experience, I would advise others to think twice before seeking care at this facility.

This place is disgusting!!
Someone had pooped in the waiting area, smelled horrible and house keeping never showed up to clean the area. Waited about 3 hours and then they called my friend to a hallway to wait again. I was next to him because he was sick and needed help with translation. I was asked to wait outside at the waiting room because they did not have enough chairs for people, forcing me leave my friend alone. What kind of place makes your loved ones wait outside and not have enough chairs for patients. Never coming back here ever again! Don’t spend so much money making this place look good from the outside and keeping this place so poor from the outside!
