Time to see an attorney and make this incompetent organization accountable
I try to avoid AnMed ER as much as possible. I had an emergency a few years go where they had to give me a blood transfusion. I recieved blood and fluids in both arms. When I get up to the floor, the nurse immediately asked why they didn't run one in my hand instead of both in the middle of my arms but yet refused to relocate one of them when I asked. I had an order for labwork a few days after my discharge and the pheblomlist gasped and exclaimed "what size did they use"when she saw the bruises at my iv sites. Those were my anitecubital fossa veins, and they've never surfaced again since that night in the ER. After that, I don't like them fooling with my veins. Due to this recent fiasco, I had to schedule my upcoming CT coronary angiogram in Greenville. Anmed CALLED ME Tuesday to schedule the procedure. I inquired if imaging was fully operational and she said yes. Lo and behold, I get there and they take me up to some old, rarely used portion of the hospital to start my IV. After waiting an extended amount of time, I they take me to the ER. So I have sat all this time for them to work me in for imaging in the ER dept. I was beyond infuriated. That is NOT fully operational. if they had informed me about that bootleg crap from the beginning, I would've nicely declined and kept my appointment with Bon Secours. I was so mad for having wasted my time that I knew my heart rate was not going to be low enough for that imaging. I was not going to allow them to give me an fairly large dose of radiation unnecessarily. I requested the nurse to remove my IV. I believe her name was Christie, she was a travel nurse. It hurt when she removed it. I believe that was intentional.She was pulling it out straight and then she twisted it. I have never seen that amount of blood after having an iv removed. I also just noticed today ( 3 days later)how bruised it is. If they have damage a third one of my veins, I will be pursuing litigation.

Something has to change
Took my 5 year old for possible appendicitis, got the test run, right at shift change which is still no excuse and I do work in the medical field myself so I have the right and knowledge to say what I’m saying. We waited over 4 hours in their “fast track” department. Which was all but fast. And I understand there are a lot of sick people right now and not enough staff to keep up, things happen. But we ended up leaving at 11:00pm because my already sick child couldn’t bear to sleep in a chair anymore. It is after midnight and I am JUST now getting SOME of his test results back on mychart, at this rate I worry if someone was there for a REAL, serious, emergency; they could die in the waiting room before.

Your system is horribly flawed
I will have nothing else to do with any Doctor that works for them or the Anmed system. I've seen and know too much. My concerns were voiced with patient advocacy during her stay. You did nothing.

I would want to spend every hour with a dying family member, wouldn't you?
I find it very, very troubling that you have to be over the age of 18 to visit a sick or hurt family member in those establishment. I understand the 2 at a time, that's fine. I also understand that you don't want a bunch of little kids running around,I wouldn't either, bu if they were accompanied by their parent/legal guardian, I don't see a problem. Furthermore, if I'm underage and i have an old and dying family member that means the world to me in the hospital.

I didn't realize ER care was a game????
We have been in an ER room 2 hours. Have not seen anyone. No care has been provided. I asked a nurse at the desk and she said well you know its a waiting game!?!?! Patient is in SEVERE pain and discomfort. Has not been able to urinate since 7 pm yesterday due to stone blockage. Everything online states this is considered a medical emergency because it can damage kidneys and cause an infection. But yet nothing being done.

They do not care
Went to ER with chest pains and Dr said why didn’t you call your Dr. That was all he said to me. I will die on the way to another ER before I would every go back to AnMed. I have called and complained and they do not care.
