This place is a mess and blames the "merge" into Beacon for their carelessness
Do not bring your loved one here if you want them to get well. From the beginning there were red flags and unfortunately we ignored them. My dad was scheduled there for bypass surgery and they postponed it twice. They gave him the wrong pt's info at check in (hipaa violation #1)During surgery on the screens in the waiting room they ended up showing every patient, their full names, ages, what OR they were in and what procedure they were getting (hipaa violation #2) Doctor claim my dad's surgery was successful and later informed my dad that he nicked his heart during surgery (must be a legality thing to inform him but why are you telling someone fresh out of surgery and on a bunch of pain meds who isn't even sure what day it is?) surgeon then went on vacation the day after my dad's surgery. Dad started having trouble breathing and felt sick and the staff attributed it to anxiety and moved him (after ordering a chest x-ray) to a lower floor when it turned out he was having a heart attack. diagnosed him with pneumonia instead of said heart attack- not reassuring that a heart ICU team cannot diagnose a heart attack and blame it on pneumonia with the words "we don't know where he got it from" Lack of communication all around- if they did tell us something it usually ended up being wrong or contradicting what someone else told us. The best thing they did for my dad was transfer him to Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids.

Horrible attitude from the surgery dept for my Grandma
A tall guy they said was the manager. He thought he was great & kept flirting with the nurses. Give it up! You're like pushing 75 and gross. We asked how much longer for her to go back to surgery and he just kept walking around talking to the women. Go to the other hospital here in town!

I regret even taking my mother there for care!
This was by far the worst experience I’ve had. The staff were rude, no one was on the same page. I got different stories from every nurse and doctor we seen. The rooms are disgustingly dirty.

I will not use Ascension Borgess for this set of procedures again
I was disappointed by the lack of compassionate care by some other staff and the procedure team members. Because the schedule had changed due to cancellations, I feel I was just pushed through to make the schedule work better for the staff. On time seemed more important than giving excellent and compassionate care. The most frustrating part is that I ended up with a painful and avoidable injury (though not serious at this point) as a result of the procedure. I have undergone this procedure multiple times before and have not experienced this kind of injury.

They lie about wait time
You could be in pain, leg broke and they will tell you “the wait a be like a hr” next thing you know your waiting 5 hrs that’s not good.
