Anesthesia complications
The anesthesiologist has caused anaphylaxis several times even though my medical chart clearly states that certain medicines will cause anaphylaxis. He/she also caused my lung to collapse and my entire body to swell with fluid. In addition to four extra days in the hospital, I had to drag a big oxygen tank around my home, and received pulmonary therapy for several months. I was served food that triggered food allergies, cramps, vomiting and diarrhea.

They willingly and knowingly broke the law and they didn’t care
Management is rude and disrespectful, they hid information from me about my father even though I’m power of attorney and next of kin. Had to file hippa violation complaint and get an attorney for them to finally tell me if my father had passed away. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NEED TO!

I was having a child and they made it absolutely awful
I don't leave reviews but if I could save another mother from my experience, so be it. The nurses were beyond unprofessional. At times, extremely hostile. When it came time to report behavior that was inappropriate I was given the run around. Luckily, I was able to go home with my baby but it was the worst before, during and after. If you can have your child elsewhere please do because the nurses made my stay terrifying with the callous remarks, cruel behavior and rudeness to others in my situation. If I didn't have my family's support I don't think I'd even have another child due to how terrible bringing a child into the world was at this location. Who calls prematures scrawny??? Or states the cries of babies as annoying? Who does that? The nurses here do. Its wrong.

I absolutely despise Prisma
They're just another money hungry enterprise. Prisma hospitals/providers are refusing to bill your health insurance if you were injured in an auto accident. THIS IS WRONG. Especially, if I as a patient request that my health insurance be billed YOU CANNOT DENY ME OF THAT; and yet they try to. So why would the hospital mislead you into believing that because you were in a car accident, they cannot file with your health insurance company? It’s simple. They want you to pay them back 100% of their fee rather than accept the reduced rate that your health insurance has negotiated on your behalf. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY.... Thus, they are trying to ROB you!!! Not only of the compensation you receive for your injuries, but also the benefit of the health insurance coverage that you have been paying for. Many doctors’ offices in your health insurance company’s network will try to play this same game. If you have any form of health coverage, yet you’re being told that either you cannot be treated or your medical bills cannot be filed because you were in a car accident... DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. I am disturbed and disappointed in the FRAUD that is being perpetrated upon injured South Carolinians.

I had surgery at Prisma GMH and I suffered horribly
I had surgery at GMH and was provided no pain meds at all! I suffered horribly. Ketamine does not provide pain relief! It was also such a low dose that I’m sure teenagers at a rave have more in their systems than I did, and I had just had my abdomen cut open and organs removed. I was awake during recovery, telling them I hurt and that I was in pain and they did NOTHING! Before surgery, the anesthesiologist said “Don’t be a hero. If you are in pain, we have medicine!” What a joke. I never received anything other than useless ketamine my entire hospital stay, despite being asked the “On a scale from 1 to 10, what is your pain level” question at least 50 times. It doesn’t matter what you say, they aren’t going to help you. It was infuriating. I will not go to respected Prisma Health anymore if I ever need surgery again.

Days after they put a heart stent my dad died of cardiac arrest in their ER
My dad had a heart attack, they put a stent in, and he was released 3 days later. The Doctor said that his other arteries looked good, but 2 days after he was released he went into cardiac arrest and DIED in their Emergency room. They refused to do an autopsy saying something along the lines that he wasn't a patient at the moment and it was natural causes. He practically just walked out the door from a surgery. This is outrageous. The medical field is basically a field of science, is it not? When something goes wrong it should be investigated in order to perfect methodology and avoid future tragedy. I guess they don't care if the next stent they put in a patient may be flawed, if the doctor needs to improve in it's placement, if a different procedure should've been done, or if something was missed? This hospital doesn't care to learn and improve I guess. My dad's death could've been avoided if they appreciated the learning process and focus on constant improvement, instead of ignoring a potential problem that may cost their next patient their life.

This hospital failed my family
I went to the emergency room around 5:30pm afraid I was miscarrying. By 11:50pm I was still sitting in the waiting room mentality destructing of what could or could not be as I had not been seen yet. Had my vitals taken twice, did urine and blood test and also registered. After watching a number of people walk out and hearing people who had been brought by EMS also still waiting in the waiting room, we decided to go somewhere else. Whatever system is being used, it’s failing. This hospital failed my family. I can’t express what it’s like to sit for six hours while mentally destructing because I don’t know if baby is ok or not. An absolutely terrible experience and very thankful there are other hospitals to go to.

Respect patient wish
Family member gave birth here and it was not a planned hospital birth so she was scared and tired. The nurses and doctors kept coming with a lot of residents and students even when she said NO. I believe in a teaching hospital and allowing this but ONLY WITH CONSENT and before the actual procedures not during when the patients are not in the right state of mind to even make the simplest decisions.
