WORST EXPERIENCE - BEWARE
I visited Banner Ocotillo for severe (and I mean severe) back pain and nausea. I got there a 7 am. They put me in a hallway bed which wasn’t ideal but at least I got to lay down. All of my testing was done and resulted at 9 am. At 11:30 am there was still no sign of the doctor and I was in extreme pain as the meds they gave me at 8 am had long worn off. At this time I didn’t even know who my nurse was because not one person had come to check on me and finally I flagged a nurse down and asked if I was able to get more pain meds even if it was just a Tylenol. I didn’t get them until an hour and a half later. I still hadn’t seen the doctor and multiple nurses told me they kept putting notes in for her to come see me but she still hadn’t come by. At one point even the guy who did my CT scan at 8:30 am came over and couldn’t believe the doctor hadn’t seen me yet and said something to a nurse. At 2:40 pm (over 5 hours after my results were ready) Dr. finally came over and hands me my results and basically tells me she has no idea what’s wrong with me and that I just need to “wait and see”. I have never met a more disrespectful, incompetent doctor in my life. I have worked in healthcare myself for over 8 years and I couldn’t imagine treating a patient this way after leaving them stuck in the hallway with an IV in their arm connected to nothing for over 5 hours for absolutely no reason.

I have had horrific experiences here.
STAY AWAY!! Even though it’s a small hospital with usually only a small wait to be seen, know that you are NOT seeing recommended providers. I think the worst experience was when I was in diabetic ketoacidosis for the first time a few months ago and the ER sent some learning Dr in to see me - who didn’t know any of my diagnoses or medical history and was completely lost... So I complained to the charge nurse. She sat in the room making fun of me for complaining, and then asked “do you want to be admitted or something??” and I was discharged… while in diabetic ketoacidosis. I have had specialists tell me they wouldn’t send their family members to this hospital.. and that it’s very difficult for them to even get Dr coverage in the ER.

Be aware of incorrect billing
They overcharged me and refused to reverse the charge. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they refused to transfer me and said they would call back. But they never called back. Do not pay until they bill your insurance!

Refused to treat my son and still charged me
Worst place ever. Never took us back into a room and continued to share our personal information while we were in the waiting room for all to hear. When I challenged the bill and requested a recording of us getting treatment and being taken into a room they refused. Stay clear of this hospital they steal your money and treat you horribly.

Don't waste your time and money
I have stayed at the hospital multiple stays. It Gets worse and worse. I am being brief in the hope that that the culture will get a very much needed turnaround. I have stayed at the Phoenix VA. Banner culture is fast on that track.

Medical delays
i went to the ER because im in so much pain, knowing i have kidney stone. wednesday they told me that my surgery scheduled thursday, but reschedule it on friday, then friday came, nurse told me that they move it on saturday (i didnt eat or drink anything while waiting for the schedule surgery, i will get to eat if they inform me that the surgery is move which is later that day) saturday came, scheduled 9:30am end up moving it to 3pm. im in so much pain, and hungry too. they will only give me pain reliever. i dont know if they trying to bill me higher than i expected. for staying long in the hospital. is this considered medical delay?!

I recommend to avoid this hospital at all cost
I brought my sister to the ER due to palpitations, tremors and shaking. She has hyperthyroidism and can’t get an appointment for endocrinologist until February. Her doctors office told her to go to emergency. There’s no doctor but a PA. Who seems to be disengaged with the patient. They took her ECG, then the PA look at her and said that he will order for blood work and that took 4hrs, now she has to wait for the result and that took another 3hrs. After she complained that she’s been there for 8hrs, she was finally seen by the PA and no prescription, no diagnosis, not even an advice. She went home more sick than when she came in. Worst ever hospital…how could they operate a hospital without a real doctor and know nothing.
