Maryland hospitals are required to comply with infection prevention standards
Hospitals are required to maintain sanitary environments and infection control procedures under federal and state regulations. Visible blood in a patient care room raises concerns about compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation for Hospitals, specifically 42 CFR §482.41, which requires hospitals to maintain a sanitary environment to avoid sources of infection. In addition, healthcare facilities must follow the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR §1910.1030), which requires proper cleaning and decontamination of areas contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious materials. Maryland hospitals are also required to comply with infection prevention and environmental sanitation standards under Maryland Department of Health hospital licensing regulations, which mandate that patient care areas be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition to protect patients from exposure to infectious materials. Being placed in a room with visible blood contamination appears to be inconsistent with these infection control and sanitation requirements.

I wouldn’t deliver my baby here again
I delivered here instead of Germantown because it had a higher level NICU support but the entire experience from start to finish was awful. The labor and delivery staff were mostly rude and unhelpful. We only had 2 good nurses the whole stay. Before delivery, a nurse made fun of me for being in pain and was in no rush to provide me meds. During delivery, the nurse we had was good until all the other nurses and the doctor showed up. Then it turned into humiliation again with their fake “supportive” messages when I felt like absolutely giving up. Rather than uplifting me to keep going, they seemed annoyed that it wasn’t over with yet. Our lactation specialist always seemed like she had more important places to be and didn’t realize that even with the nipple shield she provided for us, our baby wasn’t actually eating. We had to find that out from our NP at Kaiser a few days later so our child was starving and losing weight but the staff kept saying “that’s normal”. My breastmilk depleted because it wasn’t being consumed properly and we ended up having to switch to formula early. We didn’t want the vitamin k shot right away and the doctor came in when my husband wasn’t there telling me I’m making a mistake because a baby died a few months ago from not receiving it immediately. The OB also missed a tear that needed to be stitched while delivering, which I told them I was in severe pain still before we left. No ob or regular doctor inspected me prior to discharge. That missed tear caused me a multitude of issues. They also gave us paperwork that had our sons incorrect date of birth on it. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital. It was a disaster from start to even leaving the hospital. I complained to their family care support and they took no accountability for any of their staff’s actions. I never leave reviews but hopefully this stops another mother from making the same mistake I did by choosing this hospital.

Be warned that they will try and rip you off even when you show them proof
This is not a well run hospital. If you're pregnant use a different hospital!! We paid our insurance co-pay while my wife was mid-contraction. Holy Cross gave us a receipt, but now, months later they continue to incorrectly say that the co-pay was not paid, despite a receipt issued by the hospital itself as well as records from American Express that have been repeatedly provided to the hospital. Now they've sent the bill to collections, don't use this hospital!

The care that brother received was not the best
Where do I even begin? It was unfortunate that my brother suffered from an asthma attack that turned into cardiac arrest. The neruo doctor kept telling my parents bad news with no proof. His MRI stated that he had no damage of the brain but they kept persisting that he did. As he was recovering, some of his nurses took too long to response everytime welll push the nurse call button. Sometimes it’ll take them 10 mins just to get to him !! As he was progressing with his recovery, the case worker gave my parents a list of options to send my brother to a nursing home/rehab facility. We picked one option, but on the day they transferred him they sent him somewhere else without letting us know until the day of. Don’t get me wrong, some of the staff who works there are great. But It’s unfortunate how he had to be sent to holy cross because of Kaisier insurance

I had a very negative experience at Holy Cross Hospital
The front desk staff urgently needs proper training in customer service. They were rude, unprofessional, and displayed poor attitudes, including inappropriate facial expressions and a complete lack of empathy. Each receptionist seemed to follow their own set of rules, which created confusion and frustration for patients and their families. I understand that policies must be enforced, but that does not justify treating people poorly. I was told the lobby is only open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and outside of that time, we were asked to wait either outside the hospital or in our car. This is completely unacceptable, especially for elderly individuals or those with medical conditions. I was there for four days, and unfortunately, nothing improved. It was a truly unpleasant experience.

If you have the option to go to other hospitals, avoid this one completely
The worst experience!! We will never return!! My dad went to the emergency room for chest pain. They admitted him for two days, and we were never informed of his condition. Furthermore, the nurses accused him of stealing a plastic bottle that was under the bed! They even took his clothes off to make sure he didn't steal anything. My father was treated like a psychiatric patient for no reason. They stripped him naked and tied him to the bed. After two days, they sent him home with medicine for gastritis, which was not the reason for his visit.

Charged me one thousand dollars to hook me up to an IV bag
I called to try to talk with the billing department and they didn’t answer. I left a voice message to contact me back. They immediately sent it to a debt collector... This is why people have no trust in the medical system. Oh, and yes I had insurance

They should just rename it Mercy Killing Hospital
I have never seen a place so incompetent and non caring. When we got there in the morning to see my Dad, nothing was connected, no oxygen, no vitals, no medicine, no catheter. They said they were not sure why and would reconnect. They rarely answer the call button and just brush you off when you ask for help. The second day when I showed up the call button was moved out of his reach and he was laying in a pile of poop with no oxygen. He said he yelled for them all night and they ignored him. Third day, I showed up and there was no oxygen, no food or water and it was 10:20 am. Turns out the food had been sitting on the nursing station counter for almost an hour. To save his life we are doing an early discharge today. If my family was not at the hospital caring for my dad he would have passed away. They push for a copy of the Advance Medical Directive so they can just let patients pass and say the patient's quality of life was low (CYA). Just sickening to see how a church based hospital has such a disregard for life. I feel sorry for Dr Sheth. He was great and is stuck in this awful environment.

Left me screaming and vomiting
I came with ambulance with painful transferred from urgent care. With all this the hospital put me in the waiting area for almost 4 hours, screaming and vomiting. I spoke to the nurses several times and they rejected to do anything.
