Never again will I go to Advent hospital of Ocala
The worst hospital experience I have ever had. I went in for gallbladder issues and was discharged the next morning saying there was nothing they could do and the pain would go away on its own. That same evening I was admitted to another hospital and they immediately removed my gallbladder. I would not recommend anyone uses this hospital. They do not consider what’s best for the patient. Not to mention they put me in a room that was disgusting and used to store all their iv poles and iv pumps.

Moving out of the ICU one day to then on a ventilator the next day
Very poor communication. When you’re faced with the unfortunate situation of being many miles away from a loved one in the hospital, you’re also faced with no communication and updates. The patient can go from “moving out of the ICU and down to the next level” one day to then on a ventilator and critical condition the next day and you just won’t receive a call about it. And once they do move rooms they will make sure NOT to call you about that either. Who is a loved family member to you is just another patient to them.

There is nothing good about this hospital
I highly advise anyone to drive the extra miles to Shands if you can. This hospital/providers only care about medicating you, not finding the problem. They want to seek the easy way out. The care team is only worried about making it to you every hour to check your vitals, they don’t care about you as a patient or what your needs truly are.

I really did not enjoy my stay there
I think the most memorable moment is when they took me for the echo gram and when they brought me back, I asked him where my IVs were. Why would they weren’t on the pole so I could roll it and they said, don’t worry they’re there. I ended up having to roll the whole bed to go to the washroom because they didn’t have time to put them back on the pole like they should have.
