The aftercare is terrible
My experience before the procedure was excellent. Days after the procedure I called because I thought I was having complications and the person answering the phone who connected me to the department I should be talking to told me they could not address my problem and I needed to go and see my orthopedic surgeon. I Fortunately was able to get in to see my orthopedic surgeon, but they were not familiar with the procedure and needed input from my interventional radiologist. I called the office two more times and asked for someone to call me back and was assured I would get a phone call That day. That was four days ago. My procedure was 17 days ago and I have heard from no one! I still have pain, Lumps behind my knee and a red streak down my calf.

Nurses were rude and had no compassion
Doctors were arrogant and would walk into room with their entourage especially Dr. Eric Liu .

My dad’s friend went to do surgery but he was wide awake and he felt ALOT of pain and he was screaming loud and the doctors were laughing at him and making him feel uncomfortable.

The night care didn’t exist
The inpatient care left much to be desired. A spirometer was set in my table with no information. By the second night my O2 says were dropping and my flow rate was increased. What I know is I developed atelectasis and needed intensive pulmonary hygiene which was never addressed. On my own I focused on it for most of that night and by morning had mostly cleared. Not once I’d someone ask or just do a gown and sheets change. I called each time I used the urinal which was often placed out of reach. It was a self care situation for a patient who had spine surgery and could not bend lift or twist.

Extremely traumatic and negligent care
I went to Presbyterian St. Luke’s Emergency Department on July 18, 2025, and experienced one of the most distressing medical encounters of my life. My concerns include: HIPAA violation: Staff accessed my twin sister’s medical chart instead of mine, despite providing my ID. Invasive, non-consensual procedure: A doctor mistook my IUD for a tampon and removed it without explanation or consent, which caused me physical and emotional harm. Never had a tampon in. False STD diagnosis: I was told I tested positive for chlamydia, which made no sense given my monogamous relationship. Both my husband and I tested negative at follow-up visits less than 24 hours at two other medical institutions. Negligent sample handling: My urine sample was never processed, and I was made to perform my own vaginal swab without clinical supervision. Contradicting medical findings: Both Kaiser and Denver Health confirmed I had no STIs or STDs, no abnormal cells, no infection, and no foreign object in my body. This experience was traumatizing. I am pursuing a formal complaint and can provide medical documentation to support my claims. I would never recommend this ER to anyone, especially women seeking compassionate and competent care, epecially if you are a person of color.

They did not touch me or run any tests they are charging me $7000
I went in for an emergency room visit and was there for 15 minutes and got prescribed some antibiotics for a skin infection. I am uninsured and for a 15 minutes visit where they did not touch me or run any tests they are charging me $7000. They also outsource their emergency room doctors and DO NOT inform patients of this, so I received another bill for that outsourced doctor for almost 1k. This hospital apparently loves overcharging uninsured patients. So sad that they think this is alright

Awful place.
Go somewhere else if you can. I DID speak with the patient advocate. The result was the hospital doing CYA. Further, after multiple stays there was never a patient satisfaction survey. They just don't care- which is why I said what I said in my initial email)

We received 16 different bills for care
Went to Presbyterian for an emergency stomach virus for my 4-month-old. These are the reasons I'm giving them a 1 star: 1. The doctor / nurse teams seemed like they didn't talk together. My wife and I had to provide the same information multiple different times to different people. 2. Half of the nurses we had seemed to be "training" or new to their career. It didn't fill us with confidence when we had to tell the nurses how some of the machinery worked within our room. 3. After care, we received 16 different bills for care. It's been 5 months since we received care from Presbyterian, and we're still receiving bills; I'm not sure if this is a Presbyterian thing or insurance, though we've never had an billing experience like this from any other hospital stay.

This hospital is running beyond below average. The only staff there is not qualified to be treating patients. I’m ashamed at HCA. It’s painful to know they are more profitable than ever, the CEO has made almost $29 million during the pandemic and won’t put resources into caring for patients. Isn’t that the point?
