This hospital has fallen from grace
The care these people gave my boyfriend was subpar. My daughter was a C-section in 2011, GREAT care, I had my gallbladder out here in 2013, GOOD care.My boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident 3 weeks ago. The emergency people were GREAT! ICU was pretty decent too however NO ONE changed his bandages after his leg surgery. He went in on the 12th of April. They screwed and pinned his leg together at the knee and ankle. 72 hours after having his hip socket rebuilt, they tried to discharge him! Thankfully, they realized he hadn't been weaned from his pain meds so he stayed 2 more days. Then they sent him home. He also sustained 6 broken ribs, an injured spleen and a partially collapsed lung.The social workers DIDN'T do their job in helping him with AHCSSS, finding services or even a rehab. He now has a level 3 bed sore (4 in gangrene.) and the follow up appointment they scheduled for 2 weeks from now is with a DECEASED DR. If you can help it, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Their billing department are Scandalous Scumbags!
Pay them thousands of dollars at your own risk. They may just lose track of it. And then hang up on you when you attempt to respectfully rectify the situation. Even more comical when you have proof of funds delivered and received.

I had a horrible experience
My mother was transferred here from her rehab center due to an infection on her fistula. My mother arrived at 6pm and was not attended until 9pm!!!!!! When I approached the ER front desk to explain that if she did undergo surgery that we were told she couldn’t be under a certain anesthesia meds due to her stroke, she was SO rude and unprofessional. She didn’t acknowledge one word I said to her, she was blantly ignoring me, was not even looking at me… I understand it’s busy and full but if you are gonna have such a disgusting attitude towards patients then MAYBE you shouldn’t work there. HELLLLOOOO! it’s an ER Ofcourse it’s gonna get busy. She’s a blonde lady with short hair SO RUDE!!!!!!!! I’ve never been to Banner Thunderbird and DO NOT plan on ever going back as long as that woman works there.

Isn't ICU where you should get the best care?
Mostly, the nine days my father was in your hospital, we had great staff, especially on the 5th floor. Once he was taken to ICU, there was one nurse in particular who was less than impressive. I don't know if it was because I was there every night and she knew I would take care of him, but I watched her scroll on her phone all night long and her bedside manner was harsh - and that was with me in the room! I can only imagine how she would have been if I wouldn't have been there.

Disappointed with the level of care at Banner
I came in with complications for a miscarriage so already a traumatic event. The nurse I had was nice and personable but my partner and I waited hours for any updates and the Nurse Practitioner made me feel humiliated in an already awful situation. She didn’t explain what she was going to be doing and I felt stressed, anxious, and upset due to lack of information when I was already scared. I understand that it’s a large hospital and busy but we came in at 11am and didn’t leave until 6pm and even then I was just given a packet with not a ton of information of what was happening.

I'll never come to this hospital ever again
They treat you like you're nothing. They're very convicting at the way they talk to you make you feel like you're something from the streets

I feared for my life
It was a terrible experience. I went to have TEE. However, one of the two techs poured the numbing solution down my throat, causing me to choke and gasp for breath. The female anesthologist turned away and did nothing to help me

Leave me on the side of the road rather than go back to Banner Thunderbird
I will tell the ambulance driver to leave me on the side of the road rather than go back to Banner Thunderbird. I was there twice. the 1st time i was screaming in pain and pushing the emergency button for over an hour before a nurse with an attitude decided to check on me then didn't do anything. The second time i has hitting the call button for 4 HOURS requesting my pain meds. All i got was "I'll tell the nurse." or "i'll let someone know" and even "I already told your nurse, i'll tell her again" resulting in my pain meds being 5 hours late and all i got from nurse Rikky was "Not my problem." and it was a continuous thing. EVERY ONE of my meds was hours late. and the mosquitoes got more blood out of me than the phlebotomists did. never going there again, would rather lie on the side of the road.
