Our family has been through hell at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center
My sister was airlifted here. The ER staff were so incompetent. I waited in the room with my bloody and bruised unconscious sister for over an hour until I chased a nurse down to explain something. After being admitted to Trauma ICU, where they took her situation seriously and explained that her brain stem was barely connected and we needed to help her keep her neck brace on and not allow her out of her bed, we were transferred to trauma. There, my sister tried to rip her neck brace off and pissed all over me for holding her down from getting out of bed. The nursing staff came in and allowed her to get out of bed without assistance. A complete 180 on the what trauma icu prescribed. They asked me if I was going to figure it out or get out. If me and my parents weren’t there, I’m confident she would be paralyzed or dead. This led to my sister being sent to rehab before she was ready and home before she was ready. The biggest incompetence was not requiring mental health evaluations following a TBI. She lost her job. Almost lost her house. And constantly makes terrible life decisions due to her TBI. We’re so happy she’s alive but she was just another number that wasn’t properly cared for. Run.

In the last few years been bad experiences
I had been to Carlina medicals in the.last.few.years.been.bad experiences but tonight was the worst march 13,2026 especially your doctors .The only person,I.seen as professional.Triahe RN nurse he was astounding.He showed a lot of concern @than he had to take me back himself because the other person triaged me did.not care.The others I seem professional your Police Officers at the ER door wonderful. You do not have to worry about me coming back nor referring anybody to come there.you all have degraded badly.your pharmacy treated me awful was abusing me of having my blood thinners with out a doctor seriously the Hickory sugerical blood clot doctors sent that prescription in.she had the nerve.

Very scary concerning for my daughter
I’m beyond disappointed but it’s not a surprise for me it’s actually expected from this hospital. My daughter (19) was here because she was having a episode I drove 2 hours to Charlotte to her. all I wanted was for the doctor to call me maybe give me some resources to use to help my daughter get help. I waited a whole 2 days and got no call no one even came to the room to even talk to me. Which makes me believe this is just a check for them because they just filled her with fluid and nausea medicine and sent her on her way. I also don’t believe she was evaluated properly because she talking about harming herself and we were told they didn’t have a bed for her so they couldn’t IVC her. I took her to another hospital and they IVC her so now she’s getting the care she needs and they didn’t say they were out beds.

My experience at this hospital was incredibly disappointing
I’ve been going to CMC and Levine’s my whole life, but this visit was by far the worst. The biggest issue I had, however, was a medication they administered that I was allergic to. I had a severe reaction and completely stopped breathing, and if my mom hadn’t been there to help, I would not be writing this review the nurse staff did nothing. I was threatened with being handcuffed to my bed for crying in pain and distress. All I did was cry while lying in bed, but I was told that if I didn’t stop, there would be consequences.

This is the worst hospital in Charlotte. Period
Absolutely worst EMTS in Charlotte work for this hospital. They have SOME good nurses & doctors. Everyone goes in circles, there's bad communication in this hospital. Every ambulance experience I've had has been complete BULLSHIT. If one more EMT wants to tell me, or my one of my family members that we just have anxiety & nothing is wrong when we have either 21 broken bones or Active SEIZURE and they just strapped her down more and left marks all over her arms.

They were rude, demeaning and disrespectful!
First of all I would say that Attrium is one of the best hospitals that has treated me, however, yesterday was not the best. I came in by ambulance for having multiple seizures. The staff and also the first responders made me feel embarrassed, frustrated, and hurt because it felt as if they felt I did not have this disorder. Let me just say not only do I have seizures, but I have also been diagnosed with another major condition that I am trying to cope with. Having to feel that the people that were supposed to care about my wellbeing didn’t. They were rude and very nonchalant. The doctor, as I was explaining to him about the types of seizures that I have, said to me “ did a doctor diagnose me with that”. That was so very demeaning and disrespectful! When it was almost time for me to leave, I spoke with the doctors attendant and he made me feel as if he really did believe me because he said that sometimes a person’s level may need to be adjusted. But overall I still think that Attrium is the best hospital and I will continue to be treated here.

If I could give zero stars I would! They use to be the best hospital in Charlotte but not anymore! Unprofessional! All of the above and more!!!
