Will never return to Atrium Pineville again
My husband was brought to ER Thursday April 2, 2026 by me his wife.To this day they have never told him what was wrong. He has COPD and had cold like symptoms and a cough. He stayed in ER for a long time before he ever saw a Doctor. The Doctor was very nice and told him he needed to be admitted he was a very sick boy and had low sodium. He was finally moved to a small room with the toilet in there, no shower. They moved him at midnight Friday night to a room. The nurses would tell you they were going to do something and never come back. They don't get into no hurry at this hospital. A person could die here before seen. They told him as soon as he got his sodium close to 130 he could go home he was discharged at 6:00 pm.

Do not come here unless you absolutely have to
I came in with a broke hand and I asked the front desk for ice and she said she couldn’t provide me with that. Then I was waiting and holding my hand and could feel the blood pooling and asked for ice because I needed it and she stood up and mumbled something under her mask to me. Ever experience with front desk people at an Atrium location has been negative.

Was my treatment worth $97,000?
Be prepared to suffer - No one cares. Had a planned surgery of my right colon and was admitted after surgery for 4 days. I was completely underwhelmed by the lack of care and support. - No patient advocate - Complete inefficiency with regard to planning of meals, medications, room cleaning, etc - Bathrooms, trays, and the toilet are not cleaned during your stay so “messes” sit there and rot for days - Nurses are hit or miss, just to hand out meds. Little compassion - My blood pressure went up to 174/105 - Room temperature is not adjustable - Getting pain medication is like pulling teeth - bath towels are the size of hand towels but thinner - On the day I am planned for discharge my wife was coming at 3:30pm to pick me up but the hospital could not wait for that, telling me I had to go downstairs at 9:30am to a “discharge location”, where I would not have a bed to lie in all day long, etc. - I believe my surgeon was highly competent, and from what he told me they get to use products in surgery that work well. - I survived

I had to BEG for all my needs...from water & other beverages, blankets, my meals etc.
Omg! This was the WORST hospital I have ever been in!!! They were short on rooms (8 day wait!) I was crammed into a tiny. room with a potty chair. No bathroom! I had to urinate frequently and the potty stayed in.my room from Monday to Thursday. Never being cleaned out or changed! It smelled and was drawing gnats! I had repeatedly asked for it to be changed out only to be ignored. I finally got it changed out about 3 am Thursday morning. The staff socialized loudly in the am hours keeping us awake, and if you requested anything, staff said they would get it, leave, and never show back up! The ONLY one who seemed to care at all was Dr...He is the ONLY one I. am grateful to and want to thank. Bless you, Josh Robertson! I highly recommend going elsewhere that is more accommodating and sanitary!

This hospital has NO communication!!
My father had a MRI and the machine went down while he was in the machine. During this time me and my mother waited and waited without knowing anything. We were not allowed to go past the first waiting area at the entrance and we were never notified of anything going on. We kept going to the front desk to ask questions and the receptionist both first shift and second shift was rude, rolling their eyes, attitudes because we asked questions, and they both told us us they could not help us with anything. Finally after 3 hours we walked to another area and they finally told us what happened.

STAY AWAY!
Husband taken by ambulance to ER. Did not see or speak to a physical Dr. for 18 hours!!! He had a TIA (mini stroke). Nursing staff kept telling to log onto MyAtrium chart to communicate to Dr. They offered to give me a tablet to use. Beginning to think ER is being ran by AI or Drs. hiding behind computers!! Now getting medical bills from Drs we never seen. Called Billing Dept to dispute and they keep saying sorry and transfers call.

WARNING TO ALL PATIENTS GETTING SURGERY
Apparently you have to tell your surgen multiple times that if an organ is good do not take it out. The surgen called after my mothers hysterectomy to tell me that my mom's ovary was actually healthy but went ahead and took it out anyway (my guess is they are probably selling this ovary therefore do not give a damn that my mom wanted to keep her ovaries) they will tell you they are Useless after menopause which is UNTRUE. They continue to help stabilize your HORMONES which is incredibly important. Anyone who has had hormonal imablance will know first hand how awful this is. But since they can't produce a child they are deemed "worthless" it's disgusting. We are more than just reproduction we are also humans who would like to continue living a healthy life. Also they kick you out after your surgery, my mom was barely awake from the anesthesia and had to leave drowsy and unaware. So many things wrong here.

System issues
99% of the people here are working in good what's bad is the facility itself it's not kept up it's got old equipment it goes out their supplies are always out of stock and they can't complete simple past to take care of the patients it makes things a little overwhelming for simple things to be done.
