WARNING TO ALL PATIENTS GETTING SURGERY
Apparently you have to tell your surgen multiple times that if an organ is good do not take it out. The surgen called after my mothers hysterectomy to tell me that my mom's ovary was actually healthy but went ahead and took it out anyway (my guess is they are probably selling this ovary therefore do not give a damn that my mom wanted to keep her ovaries) they will tell you they are Useless after menopause which is UNTRUE. They continue to help stabilize your HORMONES which is incredibly important. Anyone who has had hormonal imablance will know first hand how awful this is. But since they can't produce a child they are deemed "worthless" it's disgusting. We are more than just reproduction we are also humans who would like to continue living a healthy life. Also they kick you out after your surgery, my mom was barely awake from the anesthesia and had to leave drowsy and unaware. So many things wrong here.

System issues
99% of the people here are working in good what's bad is the facility itself it's not kept up it's got old equipment it goes out their supplies are always out of stock and they can't complete simple past to take care of the patients it makes things a little overwhelming for simple things to be done.

This place is a literal nightmare
Pretty sure I am in a prison. I'm a 32 year old woman and cannot walk outside without permission. First and only time I will ever come to this place. As and people say piedmont in rock hill is bad. That place is heaven on earth compared to here.

Mother died unexpectedly under their care
Refused to let us transfer her. Didn’t call us to inform us of her emergency surgery until that night when everything went left field that morning. Told us she was on life support and we needed to take her off just for us to take her off and she continued to live for another 3 days living off a morphine drip.

I filed a complaint 2 times, no response
If I could give a zero I would. I have asked to speak with someone or management with no results. They just don't care and have zero empathy. If I don't receive a response then the information I do have will be turned into the authorities.

The wait in this ER is the worst I’ve ever seen.
I understand prioritizing but 5hrs and counting is ridiculous. We already got the lab results in the My Atrium portal and still haven’t seen the doctor.

Go in with an aire of skepticism, please proceed with caution.
My family and I had an inexplicably poor experience at this hospital. My mom had an accident and was taken the the emergency room. Her hip/femur were operated on, and I believe the surgery went well. It was only after the operation that the care completely derailed. My elderly mom ended up being kept in the hospital for 18 days, with little to no physical therapy - and not a single shower. I live abroad and so was unable to be present and advocate for my mom as I would have liked, but I presumed she was in good hands at the hospital. That was a huge mistake. After several days post-op, my mom was told she was going to go into a rehabilitation facility when a spot opened up so she was given several choices and told to prioritize them. She did. The next day she was told she chose a facility for “acute care” which she did not qualify for, and asked to pick another facility. So she picked another. The next day, was told again that this facility was for acute care. Why offer them to her if it is not an option for her? This went on for days. Finally she picked a facility she was eligible for but by the time the administration got her in - weeks after her surgery - her insurance was no longer willing to approve the rehabilitation facility, and said she needed to be sent home. She was sent home in a state that should honestly be illegal. She is a widow - we lost my father at this hospital less than two years before. She lives alone. When coming home, she hadn’t even been given enough PT at the hospital to confidently step up the one step into her house. She was in the hospital for too long, and received little to no PT. This erased any of the good done by the surgery. Her recovery was derailed, and she never recovered. 1.5 years later she was still in chronic pain and unable to walk. She recently had a second surgery at Atrium Mercy and the experience was night and day. The care and attention of the surgeon, nurses and the level of concern and diligence of the PT staff was so refreshing. I would highly recommend Mercy if you have the choice. Just be sure you advocate for yourself and your loved ones in Pineville.

Beware of leaving a senior here alone
You’ll get the best possible treatment here within the Carolinas but understand these people have a vested interest in giving your loved ones the most financially correct option for themselves even if it’s not in the patients best interest.

Better care at the vet for a pet than I received for my terminally ill mother
I couldn't give a negative star: 1) Dr. Raman Seth is a poor physician. We went over comfort care plan for my mother in the morning that would be started that day. Later in the evening we noticed my mother was uncomfortable and found out 'Dr.' Seth never put in the orders that he said he would. This was NEVER communicated to the family. The nurses felt horrible. 2) 'Dr.' Keveson, the short 4 foot 'physician' in the cardio ICU section is feeble in his profession. He laughed at our family when we advised him we wanted our mother to have a swallow test so she could get nutrition. He always had a grin on his face as if we were wasting our time taking care of our mother. Just for his poor bed side manners our mother passed her swallow test and was transferred out of this low medical competency ICU. In addition, we had a nurse that was so rude that she should not have a job. Nurses Kelsey, Lisa, and Kaylie were great. The former nurses should transfer to a better facility before the poor practicing medical providers get them caught up in a medical lawsuit resulting in them losing their nursing licenses.
