Avoid this hospital like the plague, because you just might catch it
Don’t do it. Came here due to an adverse reaction to a colonoscopy with intense abdominal pain and fever. I was placed in the ER for a total of 16 hours on a bed in the HALLWAY. I asked to be moved to a bay with a curtain, they said no even though multiple were open and empty. During my time in the ER, I was consistently handed medication with no explanation. When I asked what it was for or what it was, staff seemed confused and had to ask a doctor. The doctor would come to check MAYBE every 3 hours. When I was finally transferred to a bed in the actual hospital (after 16 hours in the ER hallway mind you), the situation only slightly improved. My nurse, Aniya, was lovely and frankly showed much more professionalism and bedside manner than any doctor or resident I met. I was greeted my a resident who asked my name, and said “why are you here again? The colonoscopy thing?” Way to make me feel like I’m in capable and trustworthy hands. Again, I was told one thing by doctors multiple times, only to have them change at the last minute. For 2 days I was told I would see a GI specialist later in the day, until finally they came clean that their entire GI team was at a conference and not seeing patients (WHAT?!). I was then kept in the hospital for an unnecessary amount of time to be “monitored”, even though I showed no symptoms and had been healthy for at least 24 hours. No wonder it takes so long to get a bed here. No sense of urgency at all. When someone new was moved into my room, he had soiled himself, and the nurses made him wait for an hour. After he finally cried out to them, they yelled at him to “be patient”. The other man in the room told him to “shut the **** up and go somewhere else and die”. The nurses laughed, and then told me to return to my bed. Way to make me feel safe and cared for. After he finally cried out to them, they yelled at him to “be patient”. When I talked to the patient experience representative, I was met with nothing but excuses. Frankly, it made me more frustrated than I would have been not speaking to anyone. All in all, it is dirty, dangerous, and while some staff is lovely, the majority I interacted with made me feel more unsafe than I felt before I arrived. Incredibly traumatized from this experience.

Woodhull needs to be investigated
I would rather have my mitral valve prolapse extravagantly while in my bathroom rather than step another foot in this joke of a medical institution. Never have I met medical staff who cares so little about their patients, to an edging on medical malpractice level. Finding staff that genuinely cares is few and far between. Decisions are made daily here which make even those with no medical knowledge scratch their heads in confusion. Again, if it’s between my heart valve giving out once and for all, or going to Woodhull, i’m taking the prolapse every time. Woodhull exemplifies everything that is wrong with the public medical system and frankly needs to be investigated.

This place pushed me to get in an ambulance even after I said I could change hospital myself as my condition wasn’t that bad, it’s probably going to cost me thousands of dollars.

This hospital needs to be shut down by Joint Commission immediately
Horrible Emergency room service.. Nurses all rude. I was seen for an infected root canal treatment. some crazy unprofessional lady with no ID checked my mouth and never came back. I was there 3 hours and decided to leave. She said "you can just leave". Never again.

Close this hospital down
The amount of negligence here is uncalled for. Rude and unprofessional staff. Incompetent medical. Staff. I choose to leave peacefully to another hospital to get proper care and the security guard would not let me leave. He kept telling me to tell the nurse which I did and she told me to leave. He still wouldn’t let me go and even threaten me saying he was calling reinforcements. He should know about AMA and you can’t hold someone against their will. I was sick and in pain and being threatened.

The nurses make fun of sick patients, especially in the ER
Do not go here. This place is filthy. The doctors are terrible and I feel bad for the lucky few. This place would make a good nurse not care anymore, it’s sad. If you don’t want to feel shamed, cornered and uncomfortable, do not go here. Dr. Nathalie Matheus, get a different job. You have one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever seen. And I have never met a doctor who barely wanted to speak to their patients. The rolling of the eyes. The constant walking around looking like a lost cow. It’s a shame.

This hospital is terrifying. I mean SCARY
I left to live in Florida for many years and just came back home a few months ago, sadly the reputation about this NYC hospital has always been true. I went here tonight for chest pain an shortness of breath. I felt like I was in a prison with how dirty it is there and how unprofessional the staff are. All but one actually cared, she’s a PA her name is LIBBY, that poor girl is one of the good ones who’s gonna loose the heart of why she got into this field if she keeps working there. I can’t believe the hospital could only get worse. At least Florida u can be treated right and it’s not disgusting and dirty
