I now know why the ratings are poor
I thought maybe the ratings were poor because Who gives high ratings to a hospital? But no, it’s really bad. Waiting for hours in a dark room, not fully cleaned, and still no doctor assigned. I’m sure it’s fine if you’re dying. Don’t come to ER unless you can actively and loudly bleed, cry, or vomit to get treatment.

I spent 4 days in the emergency dept, then finally got a room
And I'm being generous here. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

SAD SO SAD
My father was in for a cardiac issue they left him in a hallway which is against the law they didn’t even give him a partition to protect his privacy out with other people who could his medical details which is grounds for a law suit. Not to mention they refused my mother access to him. The girl at the window never updated us on him not to mention there are security guards everywhere if a hospital has to have security guards like correction officers in jail there is seriously something wrong with this hospital. I’m so disgusted with there treatment of patients and their families we had to get details through text messages from my father because they refused not to update us or let us see him. What happened to compassion empathy kindness it’s all out the window at this place.

We have a right to know!!!
Rochester General Hospital is committing medical malpractice, negligence, patient abandonment, violations of the emergency medical treatment and labor act under federal law, and making false statements and records in their computer to conceal the fact they’re denying my nephew proper treatment as he lay unconscious in their hospital!! They lying about him being there when I have confirmed from the previous hospital he was flown there and needs emergency surgery! I have confirmed he is in that hospital building by their sister hospital, Unity Hospital which I have on camera. They won’t tell us if he is dead or alive! They won’t let his mother or grandfather consent to give surgery when they are listed as his medical proxy! We drove 1.5 hours to get an update and they sent 5 guards to intimidate us and threaten to trespass us if we didn’t leave! I have this all on video. This is illegal. We have a right to know what his condition is! We have a right to know who his operating doctor is! We have a right to know goods diagnosis and what care he is being provided!

The state needs to be auditing these hospitals and taking action
Got to RGH with a HR of 16 & BP 70/40 they put me on the cardiac unit for 5 days & then did absolutely nothing but screw up my meds & treat me like I did something wrong. They stopped my critical meds that help control the condition because they don't have the knowledge they need & don't listen. I kept telling them what was causing the wild swings of BP & HR, but they'd never heard of it & kept insisting it was my fault somehow. I was forced to take my own meds after asking for 2 days about them & then they said I was taking street drugs! One night my IV came out & I called for help @3 am & it took 2 hours for them to come & the floor was empty. I couldn't even leave when I was screamed at by a male nurse whom I kept telling that I needed the ultrasound to guide the IV & instead he blew 7 veins, tried to go in my wrist which bled like a faucet. I cried & begged him to wait a while before trying again, he said I'd be discharged then because "you can't be in the hospital without an IV" which is ridiculous. They gave me discharge paperwork proving they were not giving me all my meds & when I showed the nurse that I was right & she was wrong they tried giving me a new falsified set & asked for the original back, I just wanted to get out of there before I died in their care and left with both sets.

Absolutely disturbed by this place
I’ve had nothing but bad experiences all 5 times I’ve been here. Including emergency and labor and delivery.

Should be called the house of pain and bullcrap
Very poor service. If you have a reaction and need benedryl they don't give you any leaving you suffering! Worst hospital stay I ever had! I Do Not Recommend!

I am giving this hospital ER 1 star
Went to the RGH ER with a friend whose having a chest pain at 4a and waited for over 4 1/2 - 5 hours. Got admitted for vitals and that's bout it. No check in from anyone else, just draw blood twice. They advised that they were in the middle of shift change. Finally the NP came and check on us after 4.5 hours wait time, but my friend have had it, he wanted to leave. What a disappointing experience. Will not recommend to anyone if you have to go to ER.
