They made his last weeks harder than they needed to be
Let me be clear from the start: my partner—an African-American man—deserved better. We trusted Lenox Hill Hospital’s cancer and radiation department with his life, and what we got in return was a devastating, avoidable tragedy. We were misled every step of the way. The staff smiled in our faces daily, telling us how “well his body was responding to the radiation.” Behind those smiles and polished shoes, though, was a team that had made a critical mistake early in his treatment—a mistake they chose to hide. That error caused a sac of poisonous fluid to form around the tumor, which eventually burned a hole. They knew what was happening, and instead of being honest or taking corrective action, they chose to lie - to both of us - every single day. Then, when the radiation treatment was finally done, they gave him a colostomy bag - and immediately moved to discharge him to hospice. They were ready to send him home to die, as if he were disposable. No apology. No accountability. Just a quiet push out the door like their job was done. This wasn’t just a medical failure. It was betrayal. And whether it was due to negligence, systemic bias, or pure indifference, I will never forgive them for how they treated him - or for how they treated me. They turned my world into a nightmare. And all the while, they kept running the insurance bills like everything was fine. Please—if you care about your loved one, especially if they are a person of color, do not bring them here. This place may look professional on the outside, but what happened behind those doors destroyed someone I loved.

If I could give them a 0 I will
I went in the hospital with a lump in my neck in pain for more then a week (Dr Khushmit Kaur) was very nasty and unhelpful she literally was talking about me in the hallway as if I couldn’t have a attitude due to my pain she was very unprofessional even the nurse. I never had an issue with this hospital until yesterday. She literally took the iv out my arm and my sister had to put the badge how unprofessional is that for a doctor. Then diagnoses me with something I didn’t come in there for.

This hospital needs to get it together
My husband had a major life changing surgery due to cancer. His surgeons were amazing and kind. He was eventually moved to the eighth floor. They might as well put his bed in the middle of Time Square. The entire floor is so loud and chaotic. He needs rest and for it to be quiet. There is no rest to recovery. Small double rooms with no privacy or room to move. You will know everything about your roommate. You can stick your hand out and touch him. I have never been to a hospital where it wasn’t quiet and the nurses knew the importance of rest and quiet. Not at this hospital! We had many nice nurses but the qualities of having empathy, respectfulness to the patients is severely lacking. Create an environment that is peaceful and healing!

They unalived my grandma
Surgeon admitted that surgery went great and hospital couldn’t get her through this. Surgeon admitted that hospital had “a huge communication problem” and “everyone was talking but not directly with one another, but through other people” thanks. Now she’s gone. Do not send your loved ones to this hell hole.

Very unpleasant
Nurses none of them speak to each other. So I had to repeat myself whenever a new nurse came to see me. I did not even get water upon my request!!

Service here was appalling
My husband was admitted with a heart condition. It took over 3 hours to prepare discharge papers, before he could go home. Avoid coming here if you can.

They absolutely suck
Absolutely the worst of the worst for critical care and basic medical. I wish I could give a zero but I can’t. The system does not allow nothing but resident doctors. Each doctor would come back-and-forth with their own idea my father they really didn’t give him any we had to be the advocates and yell and yell and yell so they could give the correct medicine and what he needed, I do not recommend this place for anything related unless it anywhere from to Medical.

This hospital has some serious work to do
I delivered my first child at Lennox Hill. The nurses did not listen to me when I said it seemed like something was wrong and dismissed my concerns. It turned out my baby was reacting to the Pitocin they kept giving me and having heart episodes. By the time the doctor arrived and saw what had been happening I had to have an emergency surgery. They gave me a free private room for four days, I assume to try to make up for their terrible mistake. The room was falling apart; the help cord in the shower broke when I tried to pull it. The nurses are clearly all overworked and traumatized by COVID. One nurse would not touch me when I asked for help, another cried, a third responded to a concern with my stitches with "no bad vibes". It was sad to see the state of the nurses here and was clearly a systemic issue. This hospital has some serious work to do to provide modern patient-centered care.

Lenox Hill used to be a good hospital
I used to work there so I know about the high standards the hospital had under the President of the hospital Gladys George. My brother was a patient who under went cardiothoracic surgery. I am my brothers health care proxy and have power of attorney for him. The social worker had my brother transferred to a hospital out of state and never called me or notified me. The Doctor in ICU threatened my brother that if he did not consent to this sudden transfer he would get a legal order to have him removed from ICU in 24 hours. No one called me or told me. I have power of attorney. My brother was coerced by threats into an out of state transfer. I am so distressed, hurt and angry. Fortunately my brother recorded these conversations with his phone.
