The service seems to be getting worse instead of improving
I’ve been dealing with this hospital for over 10 years, and I’m really disappointed with how things have gone recently. I went to the emergency room with a swollen foot and ended up waiting over 2 hours without being seen. I don’t understand how it’s called an “emergency” room when there’s such a long wait, especially when you’re in pain and unsure of what’s going on. I finally gave up and asked the front desk to cancel my visit. I expected better after all these years.

A pathetic place.. please do not go there..
I am here in New York for just 4 nights and unexpectedly my 10 year old daughter started vomiting yesterday. Since I am on travel I thought of getting some medication to settle her. It was nothing but vomiting without any other symptoms and since I knew nothing about New York on the way to St. John’s Cathedral I asked my taxi driver to take me to a place to see a doctor. My goodness I ended up in this place and they took her in and put a canula right away saying she has symptoms of appendicitis and has high BP. They did blood test and took a urine sample and was about to do an ultrasound scan. I got the smell of the thing right away and I know what’s about to happen. I somehow stopped them doing the ultrasound and even having the urine sample in hand they decided to discharge my daughter after I explained them that I’m here for something for nausea that might be obvious after 15 hours of flight two days before or worst case scenario a mild viral infection. So they came up with a bill of 1350 USD. Fortunately I had money to settle that and came running away. They prescribed her a single medication initially I thought something for nausea or stomach issues but at the pharmacy I found it’s just paracetamol. It ruined my entire day and the travel too. I know I did a terrible mistake to go there without any search. They started giving her saline and stopped that right away and discharged. When I asked them to at least finish the saline they told that amount they have given is enough.. pls guys beware of them. Hope this won’t happen to anyone else again.. thanks.

Unsafe, unsanitary no good communication
They neglect their patients. They don’t take their jobs as serious as they can they worry more about how many family members come see their patients. I ask for a supervisor and get different people coming up to me saying they are a supervisor and they are not. They take their time with going to attend the patients and leave them there until they feel they are ready to attend the patient. The called the cops on my family because it’s was a lot of them trying to visit my grandmother and they banned us saying we were be a big distraction on the floor and said they can arrest us for precaution. They are unacceptable. The head of nurses is very rude and do not know how to communicate. My grandmother been there for 1month and they have been running tests and telling her family she is fine.

The experience was shocking and appalling
A handful of staff can ruin the reputation of a good hospital. Healthcare should be based on excellent care and treatment, but the patient care technicians, phlebotomists, and my mother’s horrible male oncologist all treated her in the most unprofessional way possible in January- February, 2018. I don’t recommend them for anyone looking for a hospital that takes the health and experience of their patients seriously. They are only about the money that comes into their coffers rather than ensuring their patients get the best care. Don’t use them if you can, it will only end in unsavoury stories that might have devastating consequences for you or your family.

We want service in exchange for money
Hello world, Within Mount Sinai Hospital ER by far, I have experienced the worst service of all times, I would not classify it as "care" at all. The ER was absolutely understaffed with nurses who were overstacked with workload, to the point where nurses were 2-3 hours late to their commitments. Judging by the juggling that the nurses had to do to cope with the understaffing, I would not blame them for constantly being distracted by conversations about nails or bitching about a certain someone they commonly hate. If only we saw more work out of care rather than hear random gibberish about random people from the employees' end, our time at the ER probably would have been more fruitful. For a night-long session that costs over $500 dollars, we do expect some service other than see what's your style or lingo. Now I see that things I have heard about health care are basically right. I was too optimistic to think ER care would be far better than care at home.

This place deserves no stars!! They are incompetent.
The staff/ nurses are rude and inhumane. My sister in laws father has been at Mount Sinai now for 9 weeks, he endured an intensive surgery and was doing well. Until after surgery he was being neglected by the staff/nurses and fell several times!

This hospital is one of the most disgusting facilities ever
The trauma and abuse my sister had to endure while being there is very heart breaking. First of all my sister was a patient here for 2 months in that time she developed a stage 4 bed sore. The nurses are rude and neglectful. All they care about is money. After being there for week her phone was stolen and nobody helped us. A security guard was called on my Sister who is paralyzed because she refused to give her social out. Nobody should have to go through that.
