They want cash not Medicaid
This is a non Private hospital, which is suppose to take all type of patient, but my dad is a green card holder with state medicaid. They are not allowing my dad to see any doctor. He was trying to get a neurology appointment too many times, but they don't give him any appointment.they want money.they said no appointments available with in 6 months etc.

Overcrowded and severely understaffed
DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. For the sake of your health, I strongly urge you to avoid this hospital at all costs. They are terribly overcrowded. 2 people died right in front of me during the two Emergency visits that I had because there were so many beds in the way that the doctors couldn't reach the patients in time. I don't blame the doctors or the nurses. I blame the administration for letting it get this bad.

My experience at Jamaica Hospital in Queens was extremely disappointing
From the moment I arrived, there was a clear lack of empathy and respect from the staff. The environment was messy and chaotic, which only added to the stress of an already difficult situation. What was most concerning was the blatant violation of patient privacy. Triage was conducted outside, in the middle of the waiting room, where staff asked detailed personal and medical questions out loud. Other patients and visitors were able to hear my entire private medical information, which is completely unacceptable and appears to be a violation of HIPAA laws.

Horrible hospital
Staff didn't let my grandfather leave on his own I get it. But the man has been here 3 days I'm here to take him home the doctors give the ring around that they need to talk with other doctors. My grandfather is 90 years old the man is walking on his own, talking coherent. Feeling well for 24 hours and won't let him leave. One doctor said he could leave, another said he'll bring the discharge paperwork in a bit. Now the doc disappeared for 90 minutes.

This hell hole should be shut down!
My dad has dementia and is non verbal as well as English being his second language. They would not allow me to be by his side to advocate for him, I begged and pleaded and all I was met with was nasty unprofessional attitudes and zero empathy for the patients. Unfortunately he was taken there by ambulance due to a fall.

THIS HOSPITAL SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN
The doctor/nurses are no different than the corrupted correction officers at Rikers island they mistreat and abuse patients which majority are minority. the whole entire hospital is FILTHY.

Jamaica Hospital. Worst hospital in NYC.
I took my son to this hospital on 4/18/2024, and we sat in that ER for over eleven hours before we were discharged. We waited for eight hours to have a CT scan. For a level one trauma hospital, they only have one CT scan this is not good practice. My son was there for nine hours before he had a second set of vital signs taken, and he was tachycardic on the first set of vital signs. No pain assessment, no nursing assessment. No reevaluation.

1000 dollars for what?
Evil people. This place has the audacity to charge me over 1000 dollars for what? For being verbally abused and screamed at while being offered NO actual medical attention. No tests, no fluids, nothing. I passed out and was brought to this hospital, they put me in a bed that they left in the hallway, and woke me up every few hours to scream at me, make fun of me, and harass me for “being a drug addict” which I’m not. However, if I was a struggling addict, that’s how these medical “ professionals “ treat addicts? That’s scary. They also yelled at my family and refused to give my mother any update on my well being other than telling her “she’s not dead” before hanging up on her. DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. They have no humanity and could care less for the patients.

Jamaica Hospital Emergency room turned out to be a total nightmare
I will never recommend this hospital to anyone that I care about. This past weekend my grandmother had a terrible fall and was taken to Jamaica Hospital Emergency room which turned out to be a total nightmare. 1. She complained of a older nurse on her team who kept requesting money from her. 2. When asking for water, no one wanted to assist her. 3. She overheard the conversations between the nurses discussing and making fun of her. 4. My 80 year grandmother was diagnosed with a Lumbar Spinal Fracture, when my aunt went to discharge her - she was told the last dose of medications given was at 5am (it was now 3pm).
