One star, wish none was an option
After a few weeks of being traumatised from coming to UAB hospital after having a an incident that was somehow not as bad as how a nurse treated me. While waiting for the nurse she came to me and said she will be with me soon while looking at me like I am dirt and then disappeared for almost an hour. At this point I’m trying my hardest to fend for myself and breathe and splash water behind my neck and face.

Only recommend if you are a trauma patient
They consistently and universally over test, over bill, and have a confusing billing and collections system. Very toxic culture. Recommend avoiding if at all possible

I never want to use that hospital again
I had a Tavr valve replacement on 5/26/25. The hospital was the worst. After recovery they sent me to a room that looked like it was in a basement, it was so small the bed barely fit in the room, no windows my husband had to sit up all night in a hard chain, I had to ask for water. I absolutely hated the hospital.....

I’m really tired of dealing with rude nurses!!
When we are checking on a patient it’s one of our loved ones and we are concerned about their health!! It’s inconsiderate to be rude to a person who is checking on their spouse who is critically ill!!!

Most garbage medical attention I’ve ever encountered
I’ve waited 8 hours for the bare minimum medical attention, and the people at the front information desk are the most unhelpful and rudest people I’ve ever come across. These people won’t bat an eye at you unless you’re flopping around on the floor screaming in pain. Even then, they’ll probably ask you to give them a second.

In awe at the incompetence
In awe at the incompetence that I witnessed while my mother was under this hospital’s care.

They gave me someone else’s discharge paperwork with all there information on it
This was the worst hospital experience I’ve had in my life, the waiting room was dirty along with all of the medical equipment, I went to the emergency room for extremely low blood pressure and they only checked my blood pressure once the whole time I was there, they did not run any tests or treat me for what i was there for, all the while im waiting I’m having severe chest pain, lightheartedness, palpitations, and my fingers and lips were blue. After three hours they gave me a IV and fluids event tho I wasn’t dehydrated and then they discharged me . When I finally got home my blood pressure was 70/42 so still extremely low, so they did nothing to help. To summarize this hospital is unclean, takes dangerously long, they are careless with information, don’t treat patients properly, and will talk about you unprofessionally to there pers.

I am seriously considering a lawsuit!!!
It was the most HORRIBLE experience I've ever had! I was in an auto accident and had to go to the Trauma Unit. I was taken immediately to surgery, where I woke up! I had had a mini stroke and they were working on me. I guess they didn't realize I could hear everything they said! They were talking badly about me! I will not repeat what they said. But I was shocked. I felt like I was just a piece of meat going thru. It didn't matter to them if I lived or died. I honestly believe if they'd had to put in extra "effort" to save me that they would not have bothered!!! And I was in Trauma ICU for 3 weeks. They were beyond uncaring.
