DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR LIVES
Been waiting to post this until my father’s estate was figured out. My father was diagnosed with a broken back due to a mass that grew inbetween his two lower vertebra (later to be found with, not curable, but treatable multiple mylenoma). Instead of them transferring them to a competent hospital, they decided his treatment would be discharge, physical therapy, and then have him walk into a clinic that would radiate the mass, shrink it and then do surgery to remove the rest. The only problem was, he had a BROKEN BACK and they lied at discharge saying he was just taking Tylenol for pain. They discharged him to an incompetent nursing home (I called the state and will write a review on that too) that did PT that had no clue what he was coming there for and they had no pain medications for him. Not only this huge issue, but my dad had developed hospital delirium because they weren’t properly giving him his lithium and other vitally important medications for his brain. With this, he did not make sense and they would tell him things without telling us. We only figured this out when another hospital who was supposed to perform his surgery called my brother to tell him that Hanover hospital cancelled his surgery the following day. If you love your loved one, do not take them here. They couldn’t discharge him quick enough…I’d like to add that they rushed him to a nursing home/pt place called The Gardens in Gettysburg. There they were completely ill prepared, had no pain meds for him (he was on pain meds other than Tylenol despite what the paperwork said at discharge), he had to use the restroom in a room that was not wheelchair chair accessible, even with his room mate in a wheelchair also. So he wasn’t even there an hour and he had to use the restroom. My brother used the call bell as instructed. No one came… tried again… no one came… my dad pleaded he had to go, so my brother wheeled him over the the bathroom and my dad stood up and fell in between the tub and the toilet getting stuck by his back brace. This is a whole other issue I will address with them. I also want to add that my fathers doctor who was/is on the board there retired that week from his concierge practice. To add insult to injury, this doctor of his for 30 plus years said that he was in all the decision making for my father and when called to talk to him the day I tried to get him transferred, was MIA. I can’t believe this is real life.

Terrible nurses. Long wait times. Very expensive.
