Left unattended for hours and hours and developed bed sores
if i could give a 0 or negative i would. this place makes me feel ill thinking about it. my cousin was here and was treated with no dignity or humanity. she was left unattended for hours and hours and developed sores from the bed in the icu where she was very fragile to begin with. i'll be going to upmc for any future medical emergencies and i hope each and every doctor and nurse that she saw is filled with overwhelming guilt and anxiety. you are the problem!

Left after 7 hours without treatment
I was waiting in the emergency room to get a room for 7 hours to get attention without result ! And I end up going to other hospital to get help ! Extremely frustrating! Not too kind nurses either.

Not the first time I've had a poor experience
After my initial assessment by the trauma team upon arrival, I was parked in the Emergency Department and essentially abandoned with no care or communication. I had to flag down a nurse in the hall to find out what was going on with my diagnosis and ongoing care. I had no call device to request assistance, so I had to get up and wander the halls myself to go to the bathroom. Despite providing a typed list of my medications, mistakes in my medications were made. I thought I was supposed to have additional testing on the evening of my arrival, but it wasn't performed until the next day. The test results were released via the AGH app, but a physician didn't come to discuss them with me until a few hours after I received them, causing me great psychological distress. This is not the first time I've had a poor experience with Allegheny General Hospital for a serious health event.

The care my son received was terrible
My son was recently life flighted to this hospital after a horrific motorcycle accident. The care he received as an in patient was terrible. My son has a broken neck, broken back, and 9 broken ribs. He could not feed himself but his tray sat untouched without anyone coming to help him. The nurse ( who was watching tik-tok every time I went out of the room) did very little to help. Gave out meds then went right back to Tik-tok. Unacceptable. No nurses aides were available. When I asked it was like… oh well… there’s a shortage. Unless we were there he would have starved or died of thirst. I had to ask for water for him. I asked for a washcloth to help him clean up and was given baby wipes. Such a disappointment in this day and age to get such minimal care. All they wanted to do was discharge him, because he was underinsured. He went home in horrific pain. Will NEVER go there again.

Their malpractice caused the death of my beloved dad
I lost my dad when it could've been prevented. He went in to get a biopsy done on his scalp. He has suffered with MRSA, and staff were made very aware of the situation. They were told that he flared up when he was in the hospital and asked to keep an eye on his blood. Instead of keeping a close eye on his blood and MRSA, they did not. He became septic, and the blood infection went to his brain. He died not knowing where he was, who he was, or who his children and grandchildren were. He was placed on emergency dialysis and ended up passing away less than a week after being admitted into the hospital. I would not recommend anyone taking their loved one to this hospital. Ever! The way he passed was the most traumatic thing I've ever been thru, and I feel like staff weren't caring or even bothered by what we (his 3 daughters) were going thru. I honestly can't warn people enough to stay far away from this hospital; I wouldn't even trust my pet with them!

I will never forgive the unnecessary trauma and suffering they caused
I will never forgive or forget the unnecessary trauma and suffering that AGH and it's surgical ICU staff caused me and my family during the death of my Mother. They treated us with a level of disrespect and callousness that is disgusting. Especially during an end of life situation. Upon making multiple departments of the hospital aware of what I was going through. Each one said how wrong it was and how it shouldn't be happening. However not one person actually did anything about it. I didn't hear a word from the hospital until six months after. I received a phone call with an insincere apology. When I asked if any changes were implemented so others wouldn't go through what I did. The answer was no.

Not impressed. Nurses don't acknowledge patients. Have to ask several times for service. Feel like just a # and not a person being treated. Big hospitals are just interested in the money!

Billing me over and over after I paid in full
Dealing with their billing is a total nightmare. Charges on my account totaling over $600 that no one could/would explain. Went through the bill BEFORE my procedure and told I owed $1,670 co-pay. I paid this amount in full. Two months later I get a bill for another $600+ said it was "additional" charges for the same procedure. Contacted them several times about the bill but, no one could explain it except to keep saying "contact your own doctor about it"!!! However, they can and do find the time to both phone and email me several times a week trying to bully me into paying the bill!!! horrible, horrible customer service all they are interested in is the $$$.
