Hands down this was the worst care I have ever received in my life
Doctors do not provide quality care or have any regard for their patients. I am in the process of filing a complaint for the negligence displayed by the ER doctor in November 2022. I arrived by ambulance, an ambulance that saved my life, after being enduring extreme trauma from several men. I woke up scared and confused. The doctor mocked me because while enduring the trauma I was so terrified that I urinated in my pants. He made fun of me for this, without asking me what happened. Worst of all, he was completely negligent and clearly did not perform a physical exam. I had a hematoma on my chest from this trauma. It was extremely swollen with lots of bruising. I was in so much pain. The only way to miss the extreme amounts of swelling and large bruises was to not even bother to look at my chest when I complained of the pain. When I was discharged, I went to another hospital where an emergency surgery was performed to remove the hematoma that this doctor did not bother to look for. I also received a blood transfusion. I have records of the emergency hematoma removal as well as pictures of how I left the hospital. Happy I didn't leave my care in the hands of St David or I would probably would not have survived this event. This experience made the traumatic event I experienced so much worse. Do not go to this hospital if you want to receive medical care or compassion. Upon reviewing my health records to submit my formal complaint, they admitted my chief complaint as "intoxication." My emergency surgery occurred within hours of leaving this horrific place.

This hospital needs an upgrade in equipment
Staff is fantastic. They could do a better job if the hospital spent money on equipment. Nothing good here facilities needs an update. You call the nurse either. They're short staff, and they don't show up. And when they do show up, they do a great job, then I know it's not their job to keep the building maintained. And their equipment maintained give an employee that's what they need in the Be it that's their best, please. Hospitals spend some money Give your patients the best care you were highly recommended but yeah you've dropped the ball

Discharged with IV port
My grandfather was discharged and I guess they couldn’t be bothered to make sure his IV port was taken out. We ended up coming home with it and had to take it out ourselves.

Absolutely horrible experience
The worst hospital I have ever witnessed. They don’t care in any way about the sick people in their care. Vile.

My son got horrible blisters and bedsores
My son was there 3 1/2 weeks and was paralyzed and got horrible blisters and bedsores. They would serve his meals and leave the room and he had no use of his hands and therefore was unable to eat,. They could’ve cared less about his condition. The communication with doctors was absolutely horrible. Of course this was not a specialized hospital for spinal cord injuries, but in any case again, the communication was awful. While it may be the best in Austin if you have a loved one with a serious condition, I would definitely leave Austin and get them care in a bigger city like Dallas or Houston. Not the best care in the world. Thankfully, he did have a great surgeon.
