I waited for 5 hours to get looked by a doctor with a chopped off finger
If I could, I’d give them 0…HORRIBLE care. I waited for 5 hours to get looked by a doctor with a chopped off finger, luckily it wasn’t that bad so they didn’t have to amputee it but that could’ve happened while I was waiting in pain if the situation was a little bit more serious. Then, the doctor operated on me IN THE HALLWAY and charged me for emergency room. They charged me for a tetanus shot that I DIDN’T receive and for 3 x-ray scans and I had only two.

Horrible service don't ever recommend coming here
Horrible service horrible and terrible staff they lie to you and just let you suffer in pain more so. The waiting in the waiting room is terrible and takes more the 8-10 hrs just to be seen unfortunately.

I expect a member from the admin team to provide service recovery
My mother was brought to the ED (ED room 15 on 11/27, 11/28/23) at the Medical Center location. My mother has a device that catches her urine called a purewick. The device detached and was found on the floor. I asked several times for her nurse to replace it and waited about 30 minutes until her nurse Amanda arrived. Amanda said "you can place the purewick yourself if you like!". I immediately addressed my concerns with Amanda. I informed her I was a healthcare executive from a different hospital system and knew the device well and actually assisted her with placing the device. She soon backdown and apologized. I asked for the charge nurse Shar, who was busy in triage. The lead RN, Hieu, addressed my concerns and stated he would escalate it. My concern is how dare Amanda feel so emboldened to tell a family member that "you can do it if you liked to". I was once a nurse at the same hospital and was happy to return today knowing the care would be exceptional. Until I encountered the interaction with Amanda, RN in the ED. I expect a member from the admin team, Patient Relations, and/or ED Manager or ED Director to take this matter seriously and provide immediate service recovery. Memorial Hermann, you're absolutely much more better than one disgruntled employee. However, it only takes one disgruntled employee to spoil the overall patient experience.

Disgraceful
I was honestly surprised by how bad the communication is from the medical staff. For workers that have people's lives in their hands, you would think they were more professional.

They leave you in your own feces and urine for a long time
I was there for 1-1/2 month it was a nightmare. I was pregnant and they said it would be safe to do chemo while pregnant. LIES LIES RIGHT AFTER CHEMO my baby DIED!!! My 22 week old baby dies!!!The nurses leave you in your own feces and urine for a long time. I was in so much pain they first didn’t believe me. Room was hot hot!!! No good running AC!!! How can they compensate me for abusing me?
I had to go to MH hospital ER because my blood sugar was nearly 500. They kept me in ICU for a few days as my blood sugar was out of control. They kept on giving me high doses of insulin but still my blood sugar couldn’t be stabilized. The main reason for this was the unhealthy food that they serve in the hospital cafeteria. I’m highly diabetic and they don’t have a diabetic diet for patients like me. Every food item was hi carb, hi salt, and hi sugar. There was nothing healthy that I could eat. How can they serve such poisonous food to all the sick people. We go there to get better not to get sick.

Hospital knew I was severely allergic to fentanyl. Gave it to me anyway.
Hospital knew I was severely allergic to fentanyl. Gave it to me anyway. Had severe reaction. Hospital knew, anesthesiologist knew. It was written on my arm band in the surgery room. Everyone ignored it. If you have to have surgery done, do not do it here. I lived through it, but someone else might not be aware.

My wife came in with a gash in her head, bleeding and shit and these mf’s in the emergency room that work here chilling or on the phone and shit. This is why black people don’t go to hospitals. People is just looking for a check and it ain’t right. Just a few minutes ago a lady came in and was in a lot of pain, Now I know that there’s other people in here waiting just like me but damn she was asking the sorry people that work here she need help now and the lady she was talking to act like she talked to someone and told the lady in a few seconds(Bulshit). This is by far the WORST Hospital in Houston Texas seriously.SMH is all I can do right now people that work in hospitals should care more or work at a place where they don’t have to deal with People. And yes I’m a Black man if who ever reads this cares.Over and Out....
