Please don’t leave your care or a family members in their hands if you can help it
Worst hospital ever. I hope the first step Vanderbilt takes is to fire the current Executive Leadership Team. My father was hospitalized there for 1.5 months and it was a constant battle to talk to a doctor who knew what was going on. Their hospitalist rotate every week so it is a different doctor you are trying to chase down. They do not respond requests to speak with them, and if you happen to be around when they decide to do their rounding count yourself lucky. But getting information is like pulling teeth, they don’t give it up willingly and they definitely don’t feed you information to make you feel informed. From the start they were focused on hospice and never stopped pushing that agenda. The nurses were absent most of the shift (there were exceptions, but few) only stopping in to check vitals. No one making sure he was eating or drinking. When we would tell them he had to have a bowel movement they said ok, he has a pull-up on, he can go in that. How degrading that is. 1 nurse came in 1 time in 12 hours to administer medicine. No one turned him regularly to ensure he wasn’t getting bed sores. They always acted like they had so much other things going on but of course not too busy to be in the halls chatting and scrolling through their cell phones. Any information you requested was responded with “I’ll ask the doctor but I don’t know if they will get back with me.” The social workers suck at their job. They did not respond to requests for information or make the family feel informed or comfortable with the process. The hospital does not have patient advocates. Their ethics board member Adel Saleh (nephrology) was so disrespectful and had a complete lack of empathy it should have been embarrassing, but that seems to be the normal for this facility. The only time they wanted to talk was to discuss ending treatment. I moved my dad to the VA in Nashville and had better care the first day than from the entire time at Tennova. I have spoken with more doctors on a daily basis than I did in a week at Tennova.

I have yet to have 1 good emergency room experience here
This place has gotten worse and worse throughout the years unfortunately. Today might be the last day I would ever go to their emergency room. They check you in and make sure they get all your payment info and vitals. Then make you sit in the lounge for about 2 hrs, call you to the back like your getting ready to be seen only to put you in another waiting room JAM packed that the heat is turned up to like 90 degrees. There was an old couple I overheard while I was there in the hot box said they was there for 4 hrs and straight up said to the nurse I dont see how yall put up with heat take the IV out my arm now and we are going home. Poor lady rather suffer than sit in a dang interrogation room/hot box. So, I didn't the same and just left and im literally in so much pain but that was the last time I ever trust that dang emergency room. I have yet to have 1 good emergency room experience in the past 10 years here. So good luck better have a gunshot wound if you want to be seen. SMH

I had my procedures wearing wet clothes
I was referred to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville for by the VA for a MRI but it took over one month before I was contacted to schedule the procedure. The intake process was very simple but my biggest issue came to the cleanliness. I changed into the gown and as we walk to down the hall, I was asked if I would like to use the restroom before the procedure. The rest room floor was wet. I told them the floor was wet and I was not offer footie so I had wet socks and wet pants cuffs from the oversize hosptial pants they gave me. I had my procedures wearing wet clothes and I hope it was water.

The ER is so slow
Even with no one in it, it's still slow.

I’d rather be seen at a vets office then Tennova
I’ve had to have both of my parents transported to Nashville every time they are brought into Tennova bc of the lack of care Tennova provides. They admitted incompetence multiple times. They do not care about their patients. They don’t have enough doctors/specialist to take the patients nor do they have the resources or protocol to run a hospital effectively. They will kill your loved one. Do not go here.

The care in the ER was completely unacceptable
I went two hours with a bp in the 180s over 120s and when I pushed the nurse button even to go to the restroom it took at least 30 minutes or more. During this time, I could hear the nurses outside my room at the nurses station just telling stories. When I questioned this, I was told they weren’t my nurses and my nurse was part of the trauma team and was busy. To add to my frustration, I had been there two days before and discharged only to be called back to be told I need to report to the ER to be admitted. Once there it seemed no one knew I was coming and I had to explain why I was there multiple times. Severely disappointed in the care and treatment I received in the ER. I finally was moved to the inpatient room upstairs things were better. In the ER, it was HORRIBLE!
