AWFUL AWFUL experience here!!
I want to start this by saying I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years, until my disability took me out. I also have had multiple sclerosis for 17 years. OK now we have my experience out of the way. I have never, and I mean, ever been treated the way that I was treated by Dr. Matthews in the ER at medical City alliance. He kept me waiting in severe nerve pain, To the point that I was hysterically crying, my blood pressure was through the roof and clearly you could tell I was in pain. Dr. Matthews prescribed me Toradol as he seemed to have prescribed everyone from a hangnail to pneumonia to a multiple sclerosis nerve flare. Since I have been around the block a time or 1000 I let the nurse know that Toradol had no effect on me. He then asked me what does work for me and I said the only thing I know that has worked in the past is Dilaudid. The nurse came back with Tylenol, hydrocodone, and a bevy of other things that does not work on nerve pain. Now one would think since Dr. Matthews is a doctor and he had to pass his medical boards that he would know none of that works on nerve pain.Apparently He did not know this. So I told the nurse that I did not want to take things that I know would not work. I just wanted something that would. Again, I am crying, elevated blood pressure, all the things that says she is having a Severe pain episode. Well apparently my desire to not want to waste time.set off alarm bells in Dr. Matthews head and immediately wrote me off in his mind as a drug seeker. How do I know this? He told me as much. I asked to be put in a bed so I can lay on my side and get off the painful Side. The nurse graciously allowed me to lay on a gurney they had in the hallway with a curtain covering me where Dr. Matthews then left me for well over an hour in agony. I finally had to call my son in tears and beg him to come up to help me because they would not listen to me. When Dr. Matthews came in finally after over an hour, I was beyond hysterical., Again, I have been in the medical field and have had this disease for a long time so I know what to do and I know what works. He told me my scan that he had given me earlier showed nothing. Anyone who knows anything about multiple sclerosis knows that the CT scan that he gave me absolutely would not show anything. He would’ve needed to give me an MRI. I told him that what he was doing was torturing me and obviously he did not know what he was doing because the CT scan would not show him anything. He then called security on me and tried to have me Committed on a Psych hold for 72 hours stating that I was being combative and abusive, of which I was being neither. LUCKILY, The son I had called earlier showed up at that moment And told The nurse that everything was unnecessary and he will just take me home. So I went home hysterical with no outcome and in severe pain. Guess who had to be taken by ambulance back to the hospital because of the massive amounts of pain? You got it I did, but I at least was able to wait until Dr. Matthews was no longer the doctor, he was off by then. I will never ever ever ever go back there and quite honestly that man should not have a doctor‘s license. He is that dense And that bad. Save yourself the trouble and go to Texas health if you actually want help and for the doctor to listen and believe you.

I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE!
BY FAR THE WORST TREATMENT EVER. I WAS IN MY 16TH WEEK OF BEING PREGNANT, WITH TWINS, AND WAS EXPERIENCING THE WORST PAIN IN MY LOWER BACK, PELVIC AREA, THIGHS WHICH WAS SOMEWHAT NUMB, AND COULDN'T HARDLY FUNCTION.THE DOCTOR CAME IN ASKING ME HAVE I TALKED TO MY OB WHICH THAT OFFICE WAS THE ONES WHO ADVISED ME TO COME HERE. HE STATED WITH MY LEVEL OF PAIN WHICH WAS OVER A 10, ALL THEY COULD DO WAS A MRI AND DISCHARGED ME. I ENDED UP GOING TO IRVING TWO DAYS AFTER BECAUSE MY PAIN I JUST COULDNT BARE. COME TO FIND OUT I HAD A FIBROID THAT WAS 15cm THE SIZE OF A CANTALOUPE THAT WAS DEGENERATING. NOW HOW THE HECK DID THIS HOSPITAL MISS THIS?ON TOP OF THIS, THEY KEEP REACHING OUT ABOUT A $250 BILL BUT DIDNT DO NOTHING.

I would not return to Medical city alliance ER
I went in for a possible broken shoulder. I was not happy when I left the ER because I really did not know what it was supposed to do. I was told that the orthopedic surgeon would send me an email over the weekend and tell me what to do. Of course, I did not get an email. The ER staff did give me a sling for my arm which helped a little.. I called the orthopedic surgeon for an appointment and they saw me immediately that following Monday. I was informed that I had to have more x-rays because the ones from the ER were not any good. Then I had to have a CAT scan. Then I had to make an appointment for the following Monday to see the surgeon. So I have been laying around for eight days in excruciating pain. I would’ve assumed that the orthopedic surgeon on call would have made a decision that night about surgery or other solutions to my problem. In addition, my discharge information said that I could return to work in two days. I actually thought that was kind of amusing.
