Greedy - cancelled my son's surgery bc they want to bill as much as possible
My son was scheduled for his initial surgery here mind you I was born here as well. However because they could not bill primary insurance and only accept the Medicaid coverage that approved the entire surgery, Northside decided to cancel my son’s surgery that we had been waiting months for. I do not recommend this hospital as they are greedy and want to bill as much as possible to get paid as much as possible instead of helping patients to get the care they need. Thank God our surgeon is a man and cared about us having to come out of pocket and we changed the surgery to a different hospital. We will never give Northside a dime and they damn sure aren’t getting it from insurances either.

Terrible admin over there!!!
This hospital is the absolute WORST! I’ve been trying to reach their medical records department for WEEKS to obtain my child’s records so we can get his bill paid. They don’t answer, they do not respond to request, then the operator says “Yea, we can’t even get ahold of them. There’s nothing we can even do. They never answer over there. Sorry.”

It's been over 7 months now
It's been over 7 months now, but I can't get over a couple of things, and I can't seem to get in touch with anyone who could address these. The biggest issue was allowing an uninvited guests into my room. I was freshly postpartum with a newborn, and the hospital allowed a guest when I specifically said NO guests allowed. I wanted NO ONE to visit. So when my mother in law suddenly appeared in the doorway, you can imagine the shock I felt. I was in such a vulnerable state, and the staff didn't ask for my approval of the guest, and didn't even announce they were coming. The guest just appeared in the doorway. It could've been anyone. It could've been someone with bad intentions. I am still shook by this, and it made it impossible to rest for the remainder of my time there. I felt like there was no security, and anyone could walk in at any time. The next biggest issue was one of the nurses who handled my care leading up to delivery. She preached the Bible several times, and bluntly told me that delivery would be exceptionally painful because of the sins of Eve. Not only is this TERRIBLE bedside manner, but I am also not religious and don't appreciate this kind of communication from someone who should be keeping me calm and comfortable.

DO BETTER COMPASSION AND CARE ARE FREE!!
The experience at this hospital the last days my daughter has been here is HORRIBLE!! The nurses and techs are amazing but your doctors on the high risk ward should be ashamed!!!! My daughter came in 35 weeks pregnant high risk with a cyst by her vagina. She was sent by her OBGYN for issues with the babies heart rate! They left my daughter in excruciating pain and a doctor NEVER ASSESSED her, only pushed meds including morphine that she was skeptical to take! The pain became so unbearable she eventually gave I. To take the morphine, still no doctor! No doctor has checked the now ruptured cyst, to the point my daughter squeezed and drained it herself on the toilet!! On the now 2nd day all she has seen are the amazing nurses and techs, STILL NO DOCTOR! She was even given steroids, started having contractions and still no doctor or communication! This reminded me of why I left the medical field! Doctors sign to give meds but no communication with a high risk pregnancy patient!

These guys are incompetent when it comes to billing
I have no other way to vent so here I am. They were supposed to bill the VA for my imagery but instead billed my insurance and now im stuck having to pay. They refuse to fix the matter they screwed up. If you have any options whatsoever go somewhere else.

Do your research before choosing this hospital
Doctors are not consistent with their information regarding your condition. I had 3 different doctors not on the same page and was told different results. I don’t recommend for birth plans here. I suffered a lot with my delivery. My family has not had good experiences with pregnancies at this hospital but unfortunately this was the only choice given to me.

I had a TERRIBLE time in the ER on 4/29
I asked for a wheelchair since I had trouble walking in and employees emphasized how they only give it to people who absolutely need it even though I had trouble walking and was experiencing pelvic pain. I received dry and rude responses from the desk clerk. It was clear she was there to clock in and clock out. The triage nurse called my name and that was about the only time she talked to me. Before the doctor came and talked to me, a random nurse roughly tried taking out my IV and ended up yanking out the IV out from my arm. It obviously hurts and I didn't receive so much of an apology. She said "oh, it wasn't supposed to come out like that." All this trouble and disrespect throughout the duration of an 8-9 hour stay.

Get ready for unexpected bills
At least two bills per visit even though this was preventative care and we called everyone upfront to ask why we are called to come back and if it will cost us anything and we did asked again on the front desk at arrival and no one answered any of our questions! They are like robots, just asking you to sit and wait and later on you get the bill in the mail despite our numerous attempts to find out upfront if and how much it would be! It’s like they know they will overcharge you so they don’t have the decency to tell you face to face! They still charged our insurance but that’s everything they’ll get from us! And good luck disputing later, again answers like a robot and keep sending bills! But I have a tip for everyone reading this in the same situation like us, just don’t pay, keep all your emails and communication for your records but never agree to anything and they will never get those money! Even after they send this to collections if you never agreed to pay they won’t get those money! Just tell them: “see you in court!” And the thing you signed at check in is not agreeing to pay their ridiculous bills, no matter how much they insist on the opposite. Good luck and stay strong, you are not alone.
